Kommt am Montag, den 2. November, um 18:30 Uhr ins Zwille (TU Berlin) zu einer Sondervorführung im Rahmen der „Palestine Cinema Days Around the World“, einer weltweiten Initiative, die von Filmlab Palestine organisiert wird! 🎬🇵🇸

Wir zeigen zwei palästinensische Filme:

„Gazawyat: Maha“ (Moayed Abu Ammouneh) ist ein kurzer Dokumentarfilm, der das Leben einer vertriebenen Mutter in Gaza porträtiert, die mit Fantasie und Spiel ihren Kindern inmitten des andauernden Völkermords Momente der Geborgenheit und Freude schafft.

„Return to Haifa“ (Kassem Hawal, 1982), basierend auf der Novelle des palästinensischen Schriftstellers Ghassan Kanafani, begleitet ein palästinensisches Ehepaar, das fast zwei Jahrzehnte nach seiner Vertreibung während der Nakba von 1948 in seine Heimat in Haifa zurückkehrt und sich dort mit den schmerzhaften Realitäten von Verlust, Zugehörigkeit und Enteignung auseinandersetzen muss.

Die „Palestine Cinema Days“ finden am 2. November statt, dem Jahrestag der Balfour-Erklärung.

Die von Filmlab Palestine organisierte Initiative bringt palästinensisches Kino auf Leinwände weltweit und schafft kollektive Räume, um der Auslöschung palästinensischer Geschichte, Geschichten und Stimmen entgegenzuwirken.

Wir freuen uns darauf, zusammenzukommen, diese Filme anzuschauen und anschließend unsere Gedanken auszutauschen.

Join us at Zwille (TU Berlin) on Monday, November 2nd at 6:30 PM for a special screening as part of Palestine Cinema Days Around the World, a global initiative organized by Filmlab Palestine! 🎬🇵🇸

We will be screening two Palestinian films:

Gazawyat: Maha (Moayed Abu Ammouneh) is a short documentary portraying the life of a displaced mother in Gaza who uses imagination and play to create moments of safety and joy for her children amidst the ongoing genocide.

Return to Haifa (Kassem Hawal, 1982), based on the novella by Palestinian writer Ghassan Kanafani, follows a Palestinian couple returning to their home in Haifa nearly two decades after being displaced during the Nakba of 1948, confronting the painful realities of loss, belonging and dispossession.

The Palestine Cinema Days take place on November 2nd, the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration.

Organized by Filmlab Palestine, the initiative brings Palestinian cinema to screens across the world, creating collective spaces to resist the erasure of Palestinian histories, stories and voices.
