Die Palästina-Chroniken – Woche 1

Diese Woche dreht sich alles um ein einziges Ereignis, aber es ist ein bedeutendes.

Die Ausstellung „Picturing Scholasticide“ dokumentiert die systematische Zerstörung des palästinensischen Bildungssystems durch Israel, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf dem Gazastreifen liegt.

Dank  @academicboycottnow   bringen wir sie nach Deutschland und fühlen uns geehrt, diese bewegende Ausstellung eröffnen zu dürfen.

Um den Kontext zu vertiefen und den Austausch zu fördern, veranstalten wir am Freitag, dem 16., eine Podiumsdiskussion über die Ausstellung und darüber, wie die Palästinenser in Gaza sich gegen den „Scholasticide“ wehren.

Die Podiumsdiskussion ist Teil einer zweiteiligen Reihe; die zweite Veranstaltung am 30. Oktober konzentriert sich auf das Westjordanland – also seid auch darauf gespannt.

Sowohl die Ausstellung als auch die Podiumsdiskussion finden im „Plenarsaal“ im AStA-Gebäude statt.

Sobald Sie das Gebäude gefunden haben, werden Sie durch Schilder weitergeleitet.

Die Ausstellung ist täglich von Mittwoch, dem 14., bis Freitag, dem 16., von 14:00 bis 18:00 Uhr zu sehen und endet am letzten Tag um 18:00 Uhr mit der Podiumsdiskussion, an der einige der Designer*innen sowie ein Professor einer Universität aus Gaza teilnehmen werden.

Week 1 of The Palestine Chronicles has arrived!

This week is centred around one event, but it’s a big one. The exhibition „Picturing Scholasticide“ documents Israel’s systematic destruction of the Palestinian education system, with Gaza as its focus.

Thanks to @academicboycottnow , we are bringing it to Germany, and are honored to be the ones opening this moving exhibition.

For further context and engagement, we are hosting a panel on Friday the 16th about the exhibition and how Palestinians in Gaza are resisting scholasticide.

The panel is part of a two-panel series, with the second one focusing on the West Bank on the 30th of october – so stay tuned for that one as well.

The exhibition and panel will both take place in the “Plenarsaal” in the AStA Building.

There will be signs to guide you once you find the building.

The exhibition will last from 14-18:00 every day from Wednesday the 14th until Friday the 16th, and wrapping up on the final day at 18:00 with the panel featuring some of the designers and a professor from a Gaza university.
