Organised by: Niemand ist vergessen! & Memorial Initiative for Burak Bektaş

Möllner Briefe, Germany 2025, 96 minutes, Director/Screenplay: Martina Priessner, starring Hava Arslan, İbrahim Arslan, Namık Arslan, Yeliz Burhan

The documentary ‘The Mölln Letters’ by the multi-award-winning director Martina Priessner tells the stories of the victims and survivors of the racist arson attacks in Mölln in 1992, and of the great solidarity that remained hidden for a long time.

In November 1992, the lives of İbrahim Arslan and his family were cruelly shattered by racist arson attacks in Mölln, Schleswig-Holstein.

İbrahim, then seven years old, survived the attack but lost his sister, his cousin and his grandmother.

The tragedy left deep wounds that continue to affect the family to this day.

At the time, people from all over Germany wrote letters expressing their solidarity and sympathy with the victims of the attack.

However, these so-called ‘Mölln letters’ never reached their intended recipients; instead, they ended up in the town archives, where they were discovered by chance by a student almost three decades later.

She gets in touch with the survivors. One of them is Ibrahim Arslan.

Ibrahim embarks on a moving journey down memory lane as he meets three people who wrote letters at the time.

These encounters spark an intense discussion about loss, solidarity and the question of how society deals with violence and discrimination.

‼️ There will be a coach from Berlin to Mölln for the commemoration on 23 November.

🚨 Tickets are available at the film screening and can be purchased as usual at @baizberlin

✊ The event is part of the anti-fascist action weeks @keinvergeben_keinvergessen
