Let\u2019s take to the streets together on 4 October<\/strong><\/p>\nIn July, it emerged that a 68-year-old man in Berlin had knocked at least 14 women unconscious and raped them over a period of decades.<\/p>\n
He invited them to his home, drugged them and filmed the acts with a hidden camera.<\/p>\n
The public prosecutor\u2019s office estimates there were at least 58 cases, of which he is currently on trial for only 22.<\/p>\n
As the rapes took place between 2010 and 2014, they are now considered to be time-barred.<\/p>\n
This demonstrates once again how incredibly difficult it is for victims to obtain justice through the legal system, in addition to facing societal barriers.<\/p>\n
In recent years, more and more cases have come to light that follow similar patterns.<\/p>\n
The cases involving Gisele Pelicot and the author Claudia Wuttke also clearly demonstrate how the state protects perpetrators and perpetuates the patriarchal system.<\/p>\n
In 65 of the 67 recorded offences against Claudia Wuttke, investigations were again dropped due to the statute of limitations, as they occurred more than five years ago.<\/p>\n
But for the victims, what was done to them is not subject to any statute of limitations!<\/strong><\/p>\nWhilst politicians exploit sexualised violence for their racist agitation and use it to justify comprehensive surveillance of public spaces, they are making massive cuts to support services and safe spaces for women and those affected.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, violence against us continues to rise!<\/strong><\/p>\nAccording to statistics, a femicide takes place every day in Germany.<\/p>\n
That is, the murder of a woman simply because she is a woman \u2013 a gender-based killing.<\/p>\n
We will not stand idly by whilst our sisters are raped and murdered!<\/strong><\/p>\nWe demand justice for all women who experience sexualised violence, including those who are let down and ignored by the justice system.<\/p>\n
We demand real protection for women before the violence even happens.<\/strong><\/p>\nJoin us on the streets on 4 October to fight against this violence and for liberation from this brutal
