Wir freuen uns, die Referent*innen unserer kommenden Veranstaltung \u201eFrontiers of Energy Imperialism: II: Oil\u201c bekannt zu geben. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Die zweite Veranstaltung unserer Kampagne konzentriert sich auf \u00d6l als R\u00fcckgrat des zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Kapitalismus.<\/p>\n

Wir werden \u00d6l nicht nur als Energiequelle betrachten, sondern als globale Architektur, die Wirtschaft, Industrie, Logistik, Landwirtschaft, die petrochemische Industrie, Krieg und V\u00f6lkermord physisch antreibt und gleichzeitig Gewinne in finanzielle und milit\u00e4rische Macht umwandelt.<\/p>\n

Im Rahmen unserer Veranstaltung werden Bernardo Jurema, Elias K\u00f6nig, Julio Linares und Tonny Nowshin Grundsatzvortr\u00e4ge halten, gefolgt von einer gemeinsamen Podiumsdiskussion.<\/p>\n

Bernardo Jurema<\/strong> ist Politikwissenschaftler und Klimaforscher mit Wohnsitz in Berlin, urspr\u00fcnglich stammt er aus Recife. Zu seinen Forschungsschwerpunkten z\u00e4hlen die US-Au\u00dfenpolitik, kritische Sicherheitsstudien, transdisziplin\u00e4re Forschung, Umweltgerechtigkeit sowie die Schnittstelle zwischen Geopolitik und \u00d6kopolitik am Beispiel des Amazonasbeckens.<\/p>\n

Elias K\u00f6nig<\/strong> ist Doktorand an der Universit\u00e4t Twente (Niederlande) und besch\u00e4ftigt sich mit der politischen Theorie des Kapitaloz\u00e4ns, dem fossilen Imperialismus (zusammen mit Bernardo Jurema) sowie mit globalen Protesten der Generation Z. Elias engagiert sich in Initiativen gegen Krieg und f\u00fcr Arbeitersolidarit\u00e4t.<\/p>\n

Julio Linares<\/strong> ist Wirtschaftsanthropologe und Community-Organisator aus den Gebieten, die heute als Guatemala bekannt sind. Im Laufe der Jahre war er Teil sozialer Bewegungen wie \u201eDebt for Climate\u201c und hat zu diesen beigetragen \u2013 einer antikolonialen Bewegung der Bewegungen mit dem Ziel, die illegitimen Finanzschulden des Globalen S\u00fcdens zu erlassen, um einen selbstbestimmten, gerechten Wandel von unten zu erm\u00f6glichen.<\/p>\n

Tonny Nowshin<\/strong> ist \u00d6konomin, Entwicklungsexpertin und Aktivistin. In der Klimabewegung ist sie bekannt f\u00fcr ihre Arbeit zu Intersektionalit\u00e4t, Degrowth, Reparationen und der Darstellung der Klimakrise als koloniale Kontinuit\u00e4t. Sie ist seit der Gr\u00fcndung der Gruppe Mitglied von Klima4Pal\u00e4stina.<\/p>\n

We are excited to announce the speakers for our upcoming event, Frontiers of Energy Imperialism: II: Oil. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The second event of our campaign will focus on oil as the backbone of contemporary capitalism.<\/p>\n

We will examine oil not only as an energy source, but as a global architecture that physically powers economies, industries, logistics, agriculture, petrochemical life, war and genocide, while also converting profits into financial and military power.<\/p>\n

Our event will feature keynotes by Bernardo Jurema, Elias K\u00f6nig, Julio Linares and Tonny Nowshin, followed by a collective panel discussion.<\/p>\n

Bernardo Jurema<\/strong> is a political scientist and climate researcher based in Berlin, originally from Recife. His research interests include US foreign policy, critical security studies, transdisciplinary research, environmental justice, and the intersection of geopolitics and ecopolitics, with the Amazon Basin as case study.<\/p>\n

Elias K\u00f6nig<\/strong> is a graduate student at the University of Twente (Netherlands) and works on the political theory of the capitalocene, fossil imperialism (together with Bernardo Jurema) and on global Gen Z protests. Elias is engaged in anti-war and worker solidarity initiatives.<\/p>\n

Julio Linares<\/strong> is an economic anthropologist and community organizer from the territories known today as Guatemala. Over the years, he has been a part of and contributed to social movements like Debt for Climate, an anticolonial movement of movements with the goal to cancel the illegitimate financial debt of the Global South in order to enable a self-determined, just transition from below.<\/p>\n

Tonny Nowshin<\/strong> is an economist, development professional and an activist. In the climate movement she is known for her work on intersectionality, degrowth, reparations and depicting climate crisis as a colonial continuity. She has been a member of Klima4Pal\u00e4stina since the beginning of the group.<\/p>\n
